On Thursday, August 24th 2018, AdIns held it’s one of periodical activity which is known as knowledge sharing session (KSS). This time, Rissa Rachmawati as a part of Adicipta Carsani Ekakarya (ACE) brought a topic named “Emotional Intelligence” (EQ). Attended by 35 participants, the sharing went smoothly and interestingly. Here’s some summary from the sharing.
EQ closely related to self-concept term. Self-concept is a viewpoint that includes knowledge, hope and appraisal about of ourselves. In this case, knowledge means of what we know about ourselves, hope is what we may become in the future, and appraisal is assessment about ourselves.
If the reality (like what true about us) and what we feel about how it supposed to be is highly contrast, then it will make us feel unhappy about ourselves. The more difference it is, the more we feel unsatisfied.
In order to accomplish EQ, we have to determine two things. Those are recognizing ourselves at present and recognizing a personal concept that we want. Recognizing ourselves means we know about our weakness and strength especially in personality area. And if we want to achieve something more that demanding us to change into a better person, then the willingness must come from ourselves. Because it is for us at the end.
A positive self-concept is greatly needed to be applied in working life. It because working life is full of complex things, need to synchronize all technical and mentality types from another employees.

Intelligence quotient (IQ) is more taking a role for the position of staff and officers. It because those position relies on skill sets and technical capabilities. Whereas emotional intelligence (EQ) is prioritized for managerial and leader positions because it requires mental maturity to be able to lead the team. There are five skill set of EQ :
Self-awareness
Self-regulation
Motivation
Empathy
Social skills
From this sharing, AdIns hoped that the participants can get a deeper learning about emotional intelligence and the urgency.
