Knowledge Sharing Session “What You Should Know to Make a Good Photo” – AdIns, Solution for Multifinance

On Thursday, July 23th 2018 – Knowledge Sharing Session (KSS) by AdIns was held at office, Theatre room. This time AdIns crew brought a theme “What You Should Know to Make a Good Photo”. Olivia Devy Goenady as a presenter gave a remarkable material to bring. She is AdIns mobile developer. Here is the summary.

In the world of photography, there are many things to make a good photo. Composition is one of the most determined factor. Composition is the way to arrange elements on picture, including line, shape, color, brightness and darkness. Have you ever heard the words “framing”? It sounds familiar. Framing is one of composition technique. Framing is a basic composition where we have to set the main subject or point of view (POI) on a proper position in order to be surrounded another element on picture. This technique will strengthen dimensional impression on picture so that later will be more interesting visually and attract people attention to see towards POI.

RULES OF THIRD

The picture above is an example of Rules of Third theory. This theory divides the photo area into 9 equal parts both vertically and horizontally. According to the concept, the placement of the most attractive POI is at one of the crossing points of the line, so that the whole picture will be more pleasant to see.

DEPTH OF FIELDS

This concept is utilizing wide aperture with the aim to isolate the POI and do the separation from the background. Automatically, the POI that is made sharp will be very eminent while the background is just a complement to the photo.

LEADING LINES

On this concept, line is able to strengthen the composition in photography and is very helpful in building perspectives, emphasizing the 3-dimensional impression and guiding the eyes to highlight the main focus.

BREAKING THE RULE

This concept represented that placing the POI in the middle of picture is a statement that we intentionally put them into the center of attention.

With some composition of Light: ​

• Little adjustment on curve​

And some composition of Color: ​

• Tint -2​

• Little adjustment on color mix​

Besides this app mobile, we can also use VSCO Cam, Snapseed (which seems easier in using than Lightroom CC Mobile, and many more.
